Take a gourmet discovery trip with Scandlines through Eastern Denmark and Sweden
Scandlines’ new gourmet guide presents different regions of Eastern Denmark and Southern Sweden combined with traditional and unusual recipes from our northern neighbours.
“Too many cooks do not spoil the broth; they improve it!” This is Scandlines’ motto for taking readers on a very different type of discovery trip in its new gourmet calendar. A tourist destination in Eastern Denmark and Southern Sweden is presented each month, together with a typical recipe from the respective regional cuisine. The reason for this is that, in addition to Nordic design, Scandinavian cuisine is now also extremely popular in Germany. In many ways, it combines traditional cooking with international influences, generating unusual creations. This blend of styles is also reflected in the format of the calendar. It is a guide and cookery book in one, as well as being very decorative on any wall thanks to the attractive pictures. Its travelogues invite you visit our northern neighbours and the recipes help get you in the right gourmet mood in your own kitchen to prepare for your next holiday in Scandinavia. Light summery meals, such as lemon-marinated strawberries and traditional Danish Smørebrød are presented for the summer months of July and August, for example, with the harvest month of September represented by an autumnal apple sorbet.
The recipes have been provided by the kitchens of restaurant and hotels from the regions presented, such as Margaretetorps Gästgifvaregård, which is part of the Countryside Hotels chain.
With “12 months of enjoyment – a gourmet trip through the Öresund region”, Scandlines passengers will be receiving what is now the shipping company’s fifth excursion guide. The following have already appeared in German: “Copenhagen and Skåne for Individualists”, “Enjoy the sea – the good way of life in Eastern Denmark and Skåne”, “Bornholm – Denmark’s wonderful sunshine island” and “Golf experiences on the Öresund”
The gourmet guide will be available from the end of November via the Internet at www.scandlines.de under “Catalogue orders” and at the company’s trade fair stands and presentations.
